African Union Commission meets with the continental strategic partners and Regional Economic Communities in Tunis to discuss resource mobilisation for infrastructure
Tunis, 19 July 2013 - A delegation from the African Union Commission (AUC), led by its Chairperson, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma is in Tunis at the African Development Bank (AfDB) to discuss the creation of a fund to scale up infrastructure development.
The African Union Commission (AUC), the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the eight Regional Economic Communities (RECs) are meeting to explore opportunities for financing Africa’s infrastructure and in particular, through the AfDB’ s Africa 50 Fund.
The meeting will also discuss progress on the development of the continental transformation framework, Agenda 2063.
A joint communiqué will be issued at the end of the meeting late today.
